SOUNDWISE SCHOOL OF HARMONIC THERAPY is for the devoted student ready to commit to understanding the basics of both the art and science of sound healing, and to acquire adequate training, knowledge and EXPERIENCE TO become a virtuous practitioner of skillful means and integrity.

Lana Ryder, Founder, Director & Senior Instructor

Welcome to SOUNDWISE SCHOOL OF HARMONIC THERAPY

My class to the general public, "The Introduction to the Fundamentals of the Art and Science of Sound Healing" was the first and only one in the immediate Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Pa area for many years. The purpose of the original fundamental class was and continues to be to introduce anyone to the truths of the basic art and science of using sound, voice and music and to let them get their hands on several instruments to experience the sounds for themselves. This cannot be accomplished virtually.  In the seven-month school program students are introduced to a wider variety of instruments. Often students are drawn to one or more instruments and decide to pursue a more in-depth study with either myself or with one of a few teachers of excellence to whom I refer. My years of experience in professional music performance, allopathic and holistic medicine, massage and energy therapies, as both practitioner and teacher, helped to give me the necessary training, understanding and practical insight to teach a wide variety of both holistic and allopathic healthcare practitioners how to begin using sound therapy in their practices. Ever learning, studying and re-learning, and sometimes unlearning, I endeavor to keep up with the latest studies and academic classes in sound healing/vibrational medicine to bring students the most accurate and latest information. Assistant and guest instructors meet the highest standards of education, experience and integrity. We offer Therapeutic Sound Practitioner certificate because many venues are now requiring or requesting that sound practitioners have a "certification."  I personally do not have certificates for every one of the hundreds of hours of classes and courses I have taken because many of the teachers did not give them.  But fortunately, some of the teachers did give them! Anyone can give you a certificate for anything. It is where and with whom you got it from that gives it value in the sound healing field.  Keep in mind, there is no official credentialing organization within the whole field of sound therapy in the U.S.  But there are some good schools, courses and teachers.  We welcome further inquiry if you are considering us and would love to meet you in person before you make your final decision.  We encourage you to support our local, woman-owned small business with some of the best local sound therapy instructors around who live in and support our community! We rarely bring someone in from outside the community unless it is of benefit to the students that we don't have locally.  We believe in supporting our local commUNITY as much as we can as well as supporting our global sound community.  We believe in collaboration and supporting one another rather than competition, in being part of bringing in a more sustainable and equitable New Earth.
